Pocket Press + Magic Platen with Registration for Linocuts / multiple passes
A Linocut Press Station
I created this Magic Platen design for linocutters and other printmakers who want to create multiple print runs on a single sheet of paper. This small linocut press and platen (your plate holding platform) features built in registration pegs that make it easy to line up your plates, and also makes it possible to print using with dry paper. This platen can also be used for pressing intaglio and monoprints. The pegs can now be used with paper punched using a standard Swingline 2 hole punch!
You can use this press and platen to press etchings, monoprints, collagraphs and to create embossings as well as to create your perfectly registered reduction linoleum prints.
The press is approximately 3″ x 3″ x 2.5″ It is small enough that it can concentrate your strength to press even the deepest acid etched plates.
The platen (the platform that holds your plate) is a 9″ x 12″ with a printing area of about 9″ x 9″. It is possible to extend your printmaking surface horizontally.
For US orders I use USPS Priority Mail and for international orders I use USPS standard post service.
US orders usually arrive within 2-3 weeks. Overseas order can take 3-4 weeks. Keep in mind that your country may charge you a customs fee.
Every press and platen comes with a 2 year replacement warranty from the date of sale. Send me a photo of the issue and I will send you a replacement part, platen, or press, depending on what solution is best. Contact me to arrange a return within a week of receiving your order. I issue refunds for the cost of the press and platen. I cannot refund shipping.

I designed this handheld press and Magic Platen for serious printmakers who need an alternative to a floor or tabletop press. This handheld small etching press concentrates your strength so you are able to print your etchings, monoprints, linoleum, woodcut and letterpress plates by rolling over your plate in rows. The Magic Platen stays put on the tabletop and holds your plate in place while you press because the yellow rubber coating causes objects to resist movement when pressure is applied.
This blue platform is useful for embossing and collagraph prints because you can lay materials directly on the platen and they won't move when you roll over them with your press. I use it to create cards and prints with objects likes alphabet refrigerator magnets, wire shapes, cutouts, textured cloth, leaves and flowers.
I created this small series of linoleum prints using my Pocket Press and Magic Platen with built in registration pins. The pocket press makes an excellent linoleum press, even though it is better known for its ability to press etchings and monotypes. You can see how I created this print on my blog How to Press a Linocut with a Pocket Press.
The powerline image is 3.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide on a 5" x 7" sheet of paper. Your print will be signed before it is sent out.
